Stop being mean to yourself, is the thought that is circling my mind today. Some other people can do a lot more than you can do, because they are not you. You should not feel bad by saying ‘No’. Sometimes it is okay to say No and leave it at that.
Emily Freeman in her book A Million Little Ways talks about making your ‘yesses’ count and your ‘no’s’ count too. When we offer our all, when it is our all, then it is our all and we should not feel bad when we don’t meet the expectations of others. The thing is, more often than not what we think others think is not what they think at all, in fact i think i can safely say that most people don’t care whether we say ‘yes’ or ‘no’.
However the Lord cares. He loves us and he wants the best for us. He cares about our ‘yes’ and he cares about our ‘no’ too. For Him it is the most important thing in the world – you. Yes YOU! You are the most important thing in the world to Him, who loves us no matter what we do. But let what we do for Him, be yes, because it feels like a ‘yes’ when He sends a request, let our whole being be filled with YES.
But if your whole being is not filled with YES then may the answer is just No!
‘And ye shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.’ (John 8:32)
